Hi, I'm Ken.

I am from Seoul, South Korea. I spent the first stretch of my career as a product manager at PwC, then took an MBA at NYU Stern.

Then I stopped staying put. Working from wherever I happened to be turned into 61 countries, two of which stopped counting as visits — I lived in Greece for a while, and in Colombia for a while after that.

Japan, for now. I live in Japan and work as the CTO of a startup here. TabiTabi is not that job; it is what I build in my own time.

61 countries is a great deal of planning, and for years mine lived in spreadsheets. One sheet for the days, another for flights and hotels, a third converting currencies badly, and nothing in any of them that was pleasant to hand to whoever I was traveling with.

The planning should not become the trip. I wanted one place where the shape of the days, the places, and what they cost sit beside each other and stay in agreement — close enough to reach when a plan changes at an airport gate, and quiet enough to ignore when it has not.

It is a personal project. There is no team behind TabiTabi and nothing owed to a roadmap. It is written by one person who travels a lot.

Every trip I take is planned in this app before it is booked, which is the whole quality-control process.

Features arrive when a trip needs them. The exchange rate that freezes at the moment you save it, the flight that lands on the next day and shows up there too, the cost split three ways at a table — each of those exists because a trip of mine went sideways without it.

What it deliberately is not. TabiTabi sells nothing, completes no bookings, and inserts no paid placements. Place suggestions come from Google; they are an autocomplete convenience, not a recommendation from me.
